Room 105

The end of another year at Peterson Elementary. I had an interesting year this year. I started the 2008-09 school year teaching 5th grade. I spent last summer getting myself out of the primary mindset, going to a week of math training, and building a new classroom library with grade appropriate books. After two weeks of teaching, our school needed to do some shifting. Our first grade rooms had 34 kids in each room (much too high if you have ever been around that many 6 year olds). I was moved downstairs (again) and my new class was created from 7 kids from each existing 1st grade. We had a good year together.... more new experiences and trying times but still good:-) In May our school's new addition was finished and I was given the OK to start moving into my new classroom! Exciting but a lot to do.

Here is my crew! They are a fun group of kids!

My Chicago Bachelorette Party

I am so blessed to have such incredible friends! My friend Sandy organized my bachelorette party last month. We started the night out at my apartment with chips and guacamole (yummy!). From there we headed down to Trattoria Roma, an Italian restaurant in Old Town for a great dinner before a night at the comedy club. OH! I can't forget our stop at Coldstone for dessert:-) We had such a fun night! Thanks girls!
